About PokitPal

After studying at UNSW and UTS the founders of PokitPal left the sunny shores of Aus for the dull streets of the UK.  A year or so passed, slaving away for pennies whilst tapping into great student discounts from local businesses.  In 2005 we returned with one common goal…to better serve the Aussie student.

We had quickly realised that the students of many other countries were accustomed to an entrenched student discount culture, unfortunately far superior to our own in Australia.  Thanks to our handy student ID’s, we milked our student status for all it was worth!

After 3 successful years, PokitPal is now distributed for FREE to over 235,000 students in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Newcastle and the Central Coast.  Without doubt Australia's highest circulated student medium!  Each edition continues to align perfectly with our goal of providing 'solid student discounts' on the everyday student essentials...food & drink!

2008 promises to be a BIG year for PokitPal and our users.  A warm welcome goes out to journalist Tim Brunero who recently joined the team as Editor for pokitpal.com.au.  Tim has plenty of experience from The Chaser, 2GB etc and shall be providing entertaining content through articles and Ptv screenings.  Stay tuned for more in 2008...
